Deep Blue Sea Kayaking offer a full range of ICU training courses and assessments. Our beginner's courses are an excellent introduction to sea kayaking and bring you to ICU Level 2 standard.
What are the qualifications?
Level 3 courses allow you to become a competent member of a group and introduce you to tides, weather and more challenging conditions.
Level 4 courses are designed to make you an independent paddler. This is the standard to which everyone should aim. You cover trip planning and more advanced skills, including towing and rescues in bumpy water.
Level 5, the top level, is a two pronged award. A high level of personal proficiency is required and you are also trained in group leadership. Level 5 courses are run in conjunction with top sea kayaking coaches from around the country.
More details about the content of any of these courses can be found in the ICU course syllabii.
We're developing online course booking. In the meantime, here is the schedule.
