Improver Schedule

Autumn/Winter 2010

The Improver Courses will take you into bumpier water and cover more distance than on the Introductory Course.

Included are instruction, insurance and use of kayak, paddle, wetsuit, buoyancy aid, spraydeck and cag. The ratios of instructor/assistant to student will be no more than 4:1.

Saturday 16th, 2pm - Trip

23rd, 24th & 25th  - Symposium, Donegal

Sunday 31st, 2pm - Incident Management / Trip

Night paddle � as weather permits

 

 

November 2010

 

Saturday 13th, 2pm � Strokes clinic / Trip

Saturday 20th, 2pm - Trip

Saturday 27th, 2pm � Navigation clinic / Trip

 

December 2010

 

Saturday 4th, 10am - Strokes Clinic / Trip

Saturday 11th, 10am - Navigation Clinic / Trip

Sunday 19th, 10am - Mulled Wine trip

Sunday 26th, 2pm - St.Stephen�s Day Trip

 

Clinics

On each of the Clinic days, you�ll have a choice of a normal trip as well.

The Clinics will concentrate on developing your skills in specific areas.

Incident Management � towing and rescues.

Strokes � draw, low brace, high brace, sculling for support, sweep, bow rudder, hanging draw, stern rudder.

Navigation � Predicting tides & weather, transits, map reading on the water, use of compass.

 

 

Booking conditions

         You need to pay in advance.

         You can change or cancel your booking anytime up until 24 hours before the class without a problem.

         If a session is cancelled due to weather, you can reschedule.

         Cancellation within 24 hours forfeits the fee.

Cost

  • One session - �50, 3 sessions - �135 (�45 each)
  • Sessions must be taken within 9 months of booking
