Escape from the hussle and bustle of the city for a couple of hours and see it from the water. Our Discover Sea Kayaking sessions give you a taste of the fun, adventure and coastal exploring that is sea kayaking. We introduce you to the best way of exploring Ireland's coastline. We’ll have some fun on the water, learn new skills and discover the wonderful marine environment around Dalkey.

Dalkey is a treasure trove for wildlife, especially considering it’s so close to the city. There are usually 10 to 30 seals around the island and lots of gulls and terns nest during the spring and summer and quite often we get to paddle with the three Killiney Dolphins.
The Discover Sea Kayaking sessions give you a taste of what sea kayaking is about and last for 3 hours (the Thursday evening sessions are slightly shorter due to sunset).

Discovery Three is the final session in the Introductory series and you'll learn more about safety, including how to rescue other kayakers and how to be an effective part of a group. You'll also be taught how to stop yourself capsizing and will be brought into more wavey conditions to practice your new skills.

What next?
If you'd like to continue paddling you should look at the Improver courses. These sessions will focus on specific skills to get you up to paddling with a club or group in the shortest possible time while enjoying a half day trip.
Instructors and students
All our courses are run by Irish or British Canoe Union qualified instructors and the lead instructor is never less that Level 3 and is usually Level 4. There are never more than 4 students per instructor/assistant so you get great individual attention.
What we provide and what you need...
We provide kayak, paddle, wetsuit, buoyancy aid and waterproof jacket. You need to bring togs, towel, a drink, a fleece or thermal top, a warm hat and footwear you don't mind getting wet.
How to book and pay
Call 086 8205627 to query, book or pay. Payment confirms your place and you can post a cheque, give card details over the phone or we can send you a PayPal invoice.
Booking conditions
You can change your booking up to 24 hours before the event but cancellation within that time forfeits the fee.
